Who We Are
CeylonCooking ("we", "us", "our") publishes authentic Sri Lankan recipes, cooking guides and digital PDF guides at ceyloncooking.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site, sign up to our email list, or buy one of our digital products, and what we do with it.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at hello@ceyloncooking.com.
Information We Collect
Information you give us: when you subscribe to our email list, download a free recipe guide, or contact us, we may collect your email address, your name, and the country you cook in. You share this by filling in a form on the site; it is always optional and you choose what to enter.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, we collect basic technical and usage information through cookies and analytics, for example your approximate location, the pages you view, the device and browser you use, and how you found us. This is described in more detail in our Cookie Policy.
Purchase information: when you buy a digital PDF guide, the payment and order details are handled by our checkout partner, Gumroad. We do not see or store your full card details. Gumroad processes the payment and shares limited order information (such as your email and the product purchased) with us so we can deliver your guide and provide support.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to send you the recipes and guides you asked for, to run and improve our email newsletter, to deliver and support the digital products you buy, to answer your messages, and to understand which recipes and pages are most useful so we can make the site better.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send you marketing emails you did not ask to receive. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site: which recipes are popular, where readers get stuck, and how pages perform. These tools collect usage data such as page views, clicks, scrolling and approximate location, and may set cookies on your device.
We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time; see our Cookie Policy for how.
Third Parties We Share Data With
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run CeylonCooking. These include our email marketing provider (to store your subscription and send our newsletter), Gumroad (to process digital-product purchases and delivery), and our analytics providers (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity).
Each of these providers processes your information only to provide their service to us, and each has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data. We share the minimum information needed and never sell your data to advertisers.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your email-list information for as long as you remain subscribed, and we remove it when you unsubscribe or ask us to. Purchase records are retained as long as needed to provide support and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of each analytics tool.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ceyloncooking.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every message.
Children
CeylonCooking is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our site and tools evolve. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may also be announced to our email subscribers.
Contact Us
If you have any questions about your privacy or this policy, email us at hello@ceyloncooking.com and we will be glad to help.
